Lafitte Fishing Reports
Lafitte Fishing Report
Right now, Lafitte’s waters are producing excellent results for inshore anglers. With water temperatures hovering between 70–80°F and stable weather patterns bringing clear skies and light winds, conditions have been especially favorable. Baitfish are abundant, and predator species are active across a variety of habitats. Black Drum are showing up in deeper channels near structures and responding well to live and cut bait.
Redfish action has been consistent in shallow water, especially near oyster beds and grassy shorelines. Anglers are seeing success with soft plastics and spoons, particularly when fished near visible structure. Flounder have been biting steadily around creek mouths and sandy bottoms, with jigging soft plastics or live minnows delivering strong results. Sheepshead remain concentrated around docks and pilings, taking fiddler crabs and shrimp with ease. Speckled Trout are active too—both in shallow zones and slightly deeper pockets—especially during early mornings and late afternoons using topwater plugs and soft plastics.
We’re often asked about the best time of year to fish in Lafitte. While fish are active year-round, the spring and fall offer some of the most productive windows due to comfortable temperatures and consistent feeding behavior. Summer is also a great time for targeting Redfish and Speckled Trout. Regardless of the season, Captain Kevin keeps tabs on the latest patterns to help guests make the most of their time on the water.
